my name is
Shawna Lemay.

I’m a writer who lives in Edmonton, Canada. My most recent title is: Apples on a Windowsill, essays about still life, the creative life, and living with art. If you like this blog, I think you’ll like the book!

I’ve also published a book of brief essays on art and life and writing inspiration, titled The Flower Can Always Be Changing. My novel about angels and an elusive photographer is titled, Everything Affects Everyone. I’m the author of the novel, Rumi and the Red Handbag. I've also published several books of poetry and a book of essays titled Calm Things. 

I hope that this blog inspires you to create some beauty of your own, and to take some time to contemplate those moments of ordinary, everyday beauty.
